David Reynolds

David joined the Sheffield Hospitals Charity in November 2009 as Director after serving for 15 years as Chief Executive Officer of Sheffield YMCA.
He is qualified to MBA level and has extensive experience in charity governance, leadership, general management, human resource management, investment management and fundraising. He has recently delivered the Charity’s first business plan which was agreed in April 2011.
He presently serves as a Trustee of St Chad’s PCC, where he is also Giving Director and has previously held the following voluntary posts:
- Chairman of the YMCA National Association of Professional staff for England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales
- Membership of a number of national committees
- Director, Treasurer and co-founder of the Sheffield Health Consortium
- Bishop’s review group for Whirlow Grange Conference and Christian Spirituality Centre
- Governor of Norton Free Church of England Primary School
- Chairman of Broomhall Community Forum
- National Treasurer and Director of Lyme Disease Action
- Represented the English YMCA on international YMCA Europe Field Group for Ukraine YMCA
- YMCA Regional Executive Committee member
He has extensive previous experience of working to support the YMCA National Council with strategy and senior executive appointments and has much understanding of the role, pitfalls and development needs of national bodies and also of their relationship and service delivery to members.
David is also qualified in project management, health and safety, neuro-linguistic programming and coaching and is near to completing the first ever Institute of Fundraising Diploma in Fundraising.
