Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 Andy left accounting practice and spent his early career in the hotel & leisure sector. Having dabbled briefly with the chemical industry Andy joined Jacobs Cream Crackers in 1996 as UK and Ireland Financial Controller. He then moved to London in 2000 to become Finance Director of Bibendum Wine based in Primrose Hill. During his tenure Bibendum grew from £20m to £100m turnover and became one of the leading wholesalers to the on-trade. In 2006 whilst seeking a move into cheese retailing Andy became aware of the scale of the ambition of GOSHCC and instead decided to leave the commercial sector and become the charity’s first dedicated finance director.
