William Colacicchi
Chairman
Nottingham University Hospitals Charity
William has been Chairman of Nottingham University Hospitals Charity since the merger of its two predecessor charities, and prior to that was a special trustee of the Queen’s Medical Centre Charity. He is a solicitor specialising in trusts and charities, and is head of the private client and charities group at Browne Jacobson LLP, where he was elected senior partner in 2007.
William is widely involved with the charity sector, both through his clients, and as trustee. In particular, he is trustee of Baron Davenport’s Charity a well known grant making charity in Birmingham, and of the Leadership Trust Foundation, which is renowned for its work in the study and practice of leadership.
He is 55, and has been a solicitor since 1982. He was educated at Ampleforth College and Exeter University where he read History. After three years in the lock industry in London, he began his legal training at the College of Law in 1979.
William has a keen interest in the NHS Charity sector, and believes that the Association has a unique role to play in helping NHS charities to share problems and experience, and work together to achieve best practice. He feels this is particularly important in the NHS Charity sector given the potential for conflicts of interest between the charities and their trusts.
